1000 MILES PER HOUR,
SEPTEMBER 15 – OCTOBER 28, 2022
BEELER GALLERY, COLUMBUS

1,000 Miles Per Hour – the speed of earth's rotation at the equator – showcases the effects of perspective through photography and other contemporary practices. Tim Rietenbach and I curated the exhibition as part of the 2022 FotoFocus Biennial, a month-long celebration of lens-based art that unites artists, curators, and educators from around the world. It is on display in Beeler Gallery from September 15  – October 28, 2022. The FotoFocus Biennial, now in its sixth iteration, activates over 100 projects at museums, galleries, universities, and public spaces throughout Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Dayton, and Columbus, Ohio in October 2022. Each Biennial is structured around a unifying theme; this year the theme, World Record, considers photography’s extensive record of life on earth while exploring humankind’s impact on the natural world..
